I have been writing poems and working in translations for a long time. Sometimes I happen to ask to my self the reason why I do that. And If I am really in a terrible mood, I even ask to my self, at 58, after 40 years of this passion, what poetry is and what its use is. The problem is that such an answer can not be given

by means of the ordinary language. You should use poetry on poetry. Too much confusion! Anyway, to speak in ordinary language means to look at reality with a pair of broken glasses. My opinion is that poetic language is like a pair of hand made glasses which allows you to look at the world in details, with more precision. Because poetry, like life, IS. And it is not ontologically, but elusively. And there is nothing worse than the poets who speak only for the other poets.
